Izy is the Kaitiaki Māori for THETA and was born and raised in Invercargill.
He works at Dunedin Public Hospital as a Kaiawhina for Te Ara Hauora - Māori health unit, supporting the cultural safety and well-being of Māori inpatients and staff. Izy is also an artist, having completed his BVA (Honours) at the Dunedin School of Art. His practice spans across moving image, sound, and weaving, and is fuelled by the articulation of his Māoritanga, Takatāpuitanga, and whakapapa.
