Originally from Taranaki, Bea has spent most of her creative life between Poneke and Ōtautahi discovering her love for creative processes amongst these communities. Her iwi are Ngāti Porou and Ngāpuhi and her connection to te ao Maori and its values have driven her work in both theatre and music. Bea studied at Victoria University before acting in The Duffy Books in Schools programme and Sexwise. Recently, Bea received a Creative New Zealand Toi Rangatahi Leadership Grant toward workshops with young Māori and Pasifika women, and a Creatives in Schools grant to teach underprivileged youth to learn through electronic music. She is passionate about rangatahi immersing themselves in creative freedom and finding their own path to success.
